Access to Briefcase lost

I used to be able to right click the desktop and then access briefcase.
This feature was lost after resetting IE back from 7.0 to 6.0.
As I use the briefcase a great deal the lost is causing many problems.
Any advise how to restore this would be most helpfull.
My system is WinXP+ SP2
Thank you.

How to get "My Briefcase" in windows XP

C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache. Look for a file named "syncapp" and double
click it. An icon should appear on your desktop that says "My Briefcase".
Double click it and it will come up with this window that tells you how to
use it.

Hopefully the above will restore My Briefcase for you. If so, you can than

Thanks to ColTom2 for the advise.
I tried all you suggested but ono good. First I looked for the dllcashe file
and could not find it under system32.
Cheched out the MS site and all references to briefcase envolve right
clicking desk top or accessing via file menue/new/briefcase. In both cases
the briefcase icon is not there. Any further ideas please most welcome
Thanks
