Is it possible to merge 2 tables together? Ideally I'd like to import table 2
into table 1.

Take a look at using an append query.

By the way, you've asked a "how" question. If you'll provide a bit more
information about the "why" (the business need to merge the tables), folks
here may be able to offer alternate approaches.
