Access should contain advance statistical and mathmatical function

Appologies if this is not in the proper discussion group, I am using Access
2003. It would be very beneficial for Access to have all of the
mathematical, statistical, financial, etc. functions that Excel has. For
example, I would love to be able to group a dataset by month and find the
mean, or a quartile. While I understand you can call/shell Excel commands
within Access, or manually code the sql/vba to do this, it would be a huge
improvement in the product to merge the functionality of Excel with Access.
I often find myself flipping between the two programs, Access to crunch a
large amount of data, then Excel to perform some specific calculations. An
outstanding product would even combine the advanced charting and analysis of
a true statistical software such as Minitab. I commonly crunch millions of
records in Access, but cant analyze them to the extent I want in
excel/minitab, or any other product I have used. I am forced to either
sample or segment my data into multiple data sets. Perhaps this exists, and
I am not aware of it, Thank you for the consideration!
