Access runtime overview

searched this site on this topic but am still unclear;
I presumed that pre-Access07 the Visual/Access developer fee was
conceptually a counterbalance (revenue-wise) for the fact that the end users
were not needing to purchase the Access license for their desktop.

Why is this changing in Access07 (am not complaining)...

Part 2 : for an end user to run an application w/ Access07 runtime must
they have any Office07?....or is only XP necessary?? have searched around but
haven't found resolution on this....

It now has the Office logo and a "powered by Office Access 2007 on the
bottom. So it's marketing.

They don't need anything of Office. Just the runtime. But if you
mean the operating system it has to be Win XP or newer to run the
Access 2007 runtime.

MS has made the entry point for application distribution free
for all other application builders, so charging for Access application
distribution would make Access out of step with their main plan.
