Access Repair...problem...

J

Justin

Hi,
A message came up on my screen that said the computer was
not shut down correctly or something to that effect and I
ran a repair for Access (2000) as recommended. I have
not been able to share this database on the network
since, as was previously possible. I am obviously
illiterate in this matter and would appreciate any help
that is out there. Did the repair do something to prompt
this? I get an error message 3051 that it is being used
exclusively by another user or I do not have
permissio...and "read-only" is NOT checked off.

Thank you to the saint who answers this!

Create a new empty database and import the tables into it. Then build a
second database and import everything else into it. This will split your
database so that the data tables are on a back-end and everything else is on
a linked front-end which runs on each workstation. Do not share anything but
the data on the network or you will continue to corrupt the database.
