I have cloned my hard disk to a larger one but it won't boot because of
Virtual Memory issues (reassigned drive letter). I've read the KB
article, and it describes editing the registry.. which I can't do
because it won't boot :p

I can still boot from the original HD. Can I get to the registry of the
"slave" drive's Win installation somehow?

Thanks

Dave

1. Start regedt32
2. Go to the window "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE on Local Machine"
3. Click on the root entry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
4. Select "Registry\Load hive..." from the menu
5. Browse to %systemroot%\system32\config of your failing NT
6. Select the file "system"
7. Type "Test" in next window and the hive will be loaded as "Test".

Best regards

Bjorn

As an alternative to Bjorn's method, you can boot your machine
with a boot disk from here:
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html
then edit the registry. Just type ? when you want to see the
available commands. Note that the names of the various
registry keys are case-sensitive!
