Access Recognising Who Is Logged Onto The Machine

Help!!!

We've designed a system that'll monitor a member of staff's activities
throughout the day but the thing that drives it is it knowing who has
logged onto the machine (on a network). It's going to be used to
replace our old age clock card system so the action of turning the PC
on will in effect be their clock on.

We've worked around the problem by sticking a hidden .txt file within a
Windows sub folder containing the name of the person that normally uses
that machine. When the system launches it reads this file and takes
the name on the file to be the person logging on (obviously password
cross ref). Our problem is on occassions staff 'hot desk' so it may
not always be the same person logging on (which puts a fairly major
hole in our system).

Is there a way of Access knowing who the user is that's currently
logged onto the machine? Is there anywhere within Windows that
contains their information??
