anyon know how to set access permissions in win xp pro and xp home??? I can see the other 'puters in my network places but when i try to access them i get "access denied you might not have permission to use this network resource contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions" message if anyone knows how to fix this problem please let me know...also ICS is off but zone alarm is on.......thnx....bear
Run the Network Setup Wizard on each computer to fully enable file
sharing. That's usually all that's needed.
Make sure that ZoneAlarm is configured properly to allow access by the
other computers on the network.
There are no access permissions on an XP Home computer. All network
users can access XP Home's shared resources.
By default, there are no access permissions on an XP Pro computer. If
you disable simple file sharing on XP Pro, you can set access
permissions, as shown here:
