Access key?

Alex Martinez

Hello,

I am using Access 2002 and I am having problems with assigning an access key
to a text box. For example I would have a field that I want to use an
access key I would go to the label of that particular text box and entered
(&Dialog), which now I can press the ALT+D to focus on the field. Now the
problem is some of the text box won't focus even though I assigned an access
key. What gives. Any tips will be appreciated. Thank you.

I'm not sure I'm following -- when you say "assign an access key", are you
meaning placing an ampersand ("&") before a letter so as to use that letter
with the <Alt> key to set focus or perform underlying code? If so, one
reason it might not work is if your screen already has used that letter for
another purpose. For example, <Alt>-P might not work if the <Print>
function were already present.

Just for a test, insert the letter X in your label, modify it to &XDialog,
and try <Alt>-X.

Good luck
