Access is denied

Help! I set up a home network with a laptop and a desktop PC both running XP
Home. It worked fine for a while and then I installed Norton Firewall on
both. It stopped working after that! I then uninstalled NFW from both and I
can now see both computers on each terminal but 'Access is Denied' keeps
appearing on the laptop when I try to access the desktop but it works fine
from the desktop to the laptop.

I have read lots of the helpful tips on this site but still no luck!
