unable to log in or
repair my previous installation of XP due to constant "Delayed Write Failed"
errors.
Since then I installed a new boot drive and a new installation of Windows.

I've connected up my former boot drive to copy across my files; although
the drive is slow, it's still accessible. However, when I access my previous
Documents folder, F:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents,
I get a "Access is denied" error.

Based on information online, I've logged in as Administrator, and changed
the
entire disk so that all users have all permissions to the drive. However, I
still get
this error.

Can anyone describe how I can retrieve my files from this folder? Thanks,

P.

Check out the properties tab for the FOLDER(S) in question.

Since it is a permissions issue, you will have to alter
the permissions.

Not sure if you are using XPPro or Home. If using XPPro,
alter the permissions by TAKING OWNERSHIP of the FOLDER.
Then give yourself FULL CONTROL Permissions.

XPHome is a little more tricky for me but I would say try
one of the following:

1) Share the FOLDER.
2) Look for a box in the FOLDER properties that says MAKE
THIS FOLDER PRIVATE and uncheck the box.

Post back with your OS and update us with your progress.
