I'm trying to complete the transition from my old PCs ( yes, that's
plural ), to my new one. But I'm having a bit of a problem, which
I've never run into before.
My older machine is w2k Pro. I replaced it in about March, when I
started using my new XP Pro machine. About a month ago it died. So
now I'm on an even newer one. Also note that I use removable
cartridges, so swapping drives around is quite easy.
I'm trying to access my "Documents and Settings\<username>" folder,
from machine #2 (XP Pro). When I try to access it while my PC #2
system drive is in machine #3 (my newest one, also XP Pro), I get this
message. My username on my newest machine is the same as the username
I'm trying to access. Instead of being on drive C:, it's on drive K:.
I have NO problem getting into any of the other username folders. My
problem is just with MY folder.
When I try to access it while my PC #2 system drive is in machine #1
(w2k Pro), I get this message. I have NO problem getting into any of
the other username folders. My problem is just with MY folder.
It's not that I can't live without what's in there, it would just make
things..."easier".
I log on as the admin on machine #1, and I'm in the admin group on
machine #3.
Anyone have any ideas? Suggestions? Thoughts? Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks in advance,
Tom
