Access & Foxpro tables

I am trying to alter the data in the tables of a foxpro database using
access 2000 & the linked table manager through the ODBC connection but when
I try to alter any data I get the error SQL statement too long or Access
just hangs.
Am I right in thinking that this should work or not

any help would be great

Hi Mik

I haven't actually used Foxpro as link table but have imported - only problem I've had is with memo fields which Access does not recognise. Are you using memo fields in the FOx table

Yes, it should work. Can you alter data directly by opening the table in
grid format and typing values directly into it? Verify that the ODBC driver
you're using is version 6.1.8629.1, available from
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/downloads/updates/default.aspx.

Hi Sheila,

Access will correctly recognize FoxPro Memo fields when the tables are
accessed via ODBC. The latest FoxPro and Visual FoxPro ODBC driver is
available from
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/downloads/updates/default.aspx.

No I can list the data but if I alter it the the error sql statment is to
long comes up
I already have the latest ODBC driver
could anything in the fox pro tables stop you writing to the data? something
locked for instance ?
