I have files in my folders with the extentions of ".ldb" the icon shows the
access logo with the extention ldb. I cannot delete them.
How are they created? Why? How do i get rid of them?

It is a 'Locking' file. It keeps track of who is doing what to which so no
two can try to edit the same data.
They go away when Access is closed normally and all users are out of it.

They're supposed to go away-- except when a user or a server reboots
without warning Access.

Basically-- Access isn't reliable enough for real world usage.

Upsize to SQL Server.. and you don't have to bounce a file server once
a month to clean up random locking problems with Access
