Access / Excel

Help!

I am exporting a file to an excel document from access. The excel document then manipulates the data and I want to export it back into access.
I have done all this.
However the data is only manipulated if I open excel (it updates automatically once the spreadsheet opens). Is there anyway to do this via access.

Just thought I'd mention I am using Access / Excel 2000

Personally I'd just manipulate the data using the expresion or code builder.
Access can do everything Excel can and more
