After reloading windows XP onto a different hard drive.
Previous load had corrupted and would not load.I am unable
to access the files in the documents and settings folder
for my username on the original hard drive.I get access
denied if I try to open any of the subfolders. On
properties there appears to be no files in these folders .
I am also unable to copy/move or even access them from the
command prompt.

This has nothing to do with hardware, so really doesn't belong here,
but......

You need to take ownership of the folders/files in question. To do
so, you need to be logged on with administrative rights.
