Hello,

I am quite new to Windows Vista (I have more experience with Windows
NT/2K/XP).
I have a Vista Home Premium box that has one user set up with
administrator privilidges.

I am in the C:\ folder in a CMD prompt and am tring the following:

copy con c:\myfile

I then type some characters and save with Ctrl-Z

I then get an access denied error.

I cannot copy any files to C:\ or create any files in C:\

Where in WinVista do I tell it that I allow the system to have files
written to the root (C:\) ?

Thanks

You need to start an administrator command prompt.

Click Start and type cmd you should see cmd.exe in the rsulting list.
Right click cmd.exe and select the Run As Administrator option.
