Access denied to c:\windows

When I double click on the c:\windows folder, I get an 'Access is
denied' error message. I can right click and select open to open the
folder. This is XP home with sp2 and I am logged on as owner.

I followed this but still have the problem. I also saw in another post
that the guest account had to be enabled so I did that also. This
appears to be an intermittant probelm as some times I get the message,
and some times I don't.
I haven't been able to discern any pattern yet. Any help
appreciated...charlie

Who on earth are you replying to?

So people know who/what you're replying to...

When replying to a message, include enough original material to be
understood.

Because...

It is possible to see a response to a message before seeing the original.

It is possible to see a response to a message without seeing the
original.

Giving context helps everyone.

Well there was my original post, then Will's reply, and then my reply.
I thought it would be obvious I was replying to his postand not mine,
but I guess I assumed too much.
I don't know how the reply was posted twice.

It isn't obvious if half the posts are missing.

I never saw, and still do not see, your original post or Will's reply,
whoever he is.

Are you posting at http://groups.google.com ?

I am seeing this at microsoft.public.windowsxp.general

And you haven't learned to include any of the original message with a reply.

Again you didn't quote. Many folks use a newsreader to access these
groups and only download the current messages. They don't have the
thread to know what you are talking about. You need to quote at least
part of the message you are replying to, otherwise you're talking to
yourself.
