Access Denied opening txt files

Just recently, I started getting an Access Denied error when opening all .txt
or .log files. I have administrator rights, XP, SP2, NTFS. I created a test
..txt file and could not open the file I created without getting the error.
How do I resolve this problem?

What program do you use for opening .txt and .log files?

and can you start that program without errors?

I found what was wrong. I opened Explorer, went into Tools, Folder Options,
File Types and chose Notepad for .log and .txt files. I am no longer
receiving the access denied error and can open all files.
