"Access Denied" even though folder is shared

Hello: Running XP Home on two computers. Have changed
the properties on all the folders I want to share on the
network by checking the boxes for "Share this folder on
the network" and "Allow network users to change my files"
in the folder properties. Some folders I can access but
some I get the message "Access Denied. You may not have
permission to use this resource, etc..". The properties
for the folders appear to be identical. Why am I unable
to access? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

What folders are having the access problem?

When XP Home is installed on an NTFS disk partition, it blocks access
to the Program Files and Windows folders and to individual users'
folders within Documents and Settings.

You can share subfolders within those folders, e.g. you can share
"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express" or "C:\Documents and
Settings\Username\Desktop" and access that folder from another
computer on the network.

Thank you for your response Steve. I'm afraid I'm not
quite following you though. I am trying to access two
different main folders (with multiple subfolders) for two
different users. I checked their properties again and
their paths read "C:\Documents and Settings\<folder A>
and C:\Documents and Settings\<folder B>". So though
they are both under "Documents and Settings" I can access
<folder A> but not <folder B>. I don't know what an NTFS
partition is and don't know how to find if my hard drive
is formatted that way. Does this info help at all?
Thanks again.

Hi Brad: Thanks for your message. As far as I can tell
the problem folder is not encrypted. It is under a user
who has a password though. Is that what you mean? Also,
please see my response to Steve's response above for more
info that may help with your diagnosis. Thanks again.
