Access database wont open

When I try and open a database, I receive the error "The Microsoft Jet
database engine stopped the process because you and another user are
attempting to change the same data at the same time"

In MS Knowledge base, it indicates a problem with the bit datatype and the
data being NULL. However, this error does not apply here because I am not
reading a table, I am opening (launching) the database.

Any thoughts?
