I don't know if this is the right forum. If it isn't, please let me know
where I should post this.

When I start Streets and Trips 2009 installation it says, "Microsoft Streets
and Trips 2009 requires the installation of the Microsoft Office Access
database engine. " (Then, to continue, click OK, to stop, click Cancel.) I
have Microsoft Office Access installed already. It is the 2003 version. I
use Access 2003 and I don't want SAT 2009 to mess with that.

Thanks for your help.

I use MapPoint which is the big brother to S&T and actually uses the same
maps. It coexists quite nicely with Access 2003.

Try reinstalling S&T and see if that helps.

I'm pretty sure I can't return Streets and Trips (I opened it, tried to
install it...). I've never heard of MapPoint and I didn't do any kind of
comparison shopping. I just wanted a newer version of S&T. It didn't say
anything about not working with Office 2003. So I really don't want to go
buy MapPoint now.

You said to try reinstalling Streets and Trips. I apologize for not making
myself clear in my first message. My problem is that I can't install it, so
reinstalling it is not an option.

What happens is that as soon as the installation begins, the very first
thing is does is give me this message: "Microsoft Streets and Trips 2009
requires the installation of the Microsoft Office Access database engine. "
I can continue or cancel. I cancel. That is it. And since I have Access
2003 installed with Office 2003, and I use Access 2003, I don't want that
messed up.

Is there a better forum for this question? I just didn't know where to post
this. Anyway, thank you for answering me.

You wouldn't want to pay the extra money for MapPoint anyway. It is several
times the cost of Streets & Trips. Since the product can't be installed, I'd
call the Microsoft help desk for S&T. The phone number should be in the
accompanying quick start. Or, you might ask in the Streets and Trips
newsgroup:
