I want to attach visio drawing to an access database to
show a map of how to get to a area within the business

You have a couple of choices. You can save the Visio drawing as a jpg or bmp
(or other common graphics format) that can be displayed in an image control.
You can also start Visio with the specified Visio drawing using
ShellExecute:

http://www.mvps.org/access/api/api0018.htm

You might also use a hyperlink to fire up Visio to that drawing.
