Access and Chess

All-

I am well aware this is a pipe dream, but here goes. Is there a control
that can be embedded into an access database that will read a pgn file in
order to play through a chess game? I have a database of local (Montana)
chess games. I am able to export text as a pgn file and then follow a
hyperlink to open them with whatever chess viewing software you may have
istalled which works well, but it would be absoultely amazing if there were a
way to do this right in access. Again, I realize this is not likely to
happen, but I figure that some Access progammer/chess player with too much
time on his/her hands might have had this same idea.

Not a bad idea at all.

Could even have a screen where you import,a nd list all games on file. You
click on game from a listbox, and we could launch another form that displays
the chess board, and on the right side show all moves. A next move/previous
moves move would update the board. And, we could allow one to click on any
move in that "list",a nd the chess board would be display for any point in
time for that game.

And, one could certanly have a graphical chess board with relative ease...

I think it is agreat idea, and would not be that hard to write. Now, finding
some extra time...well, that another matter. I actally planning to write a
nice pac man game in ms-access, so..that will be my first pet project...

if you're going to use Access, then you will need to use Access Data
Projects for a project of this scope
