Access 97

Hi
My Access 97 has been fine for years and suddenly it started to crash. I
tried to reinstall and got the message "16 Bit Windows Subsystem.
C:\Windows\System32\Autoexec.NT The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.
I am using Windows XP.
Am unable to uninstall or reinstall Office 97.
