Access 97

I have a program for my business using Access 97- and cannot input a date of
birth prior to 1930. When I do, for example, 1925 shows as 2025. Then, if I
needed to search using the date of birth as a criteria, the program will not
allow me to search when I enter 1925 OR 2025. Is there an update I can
install to correct this error?

While a competent Access developer could have avoided this, the behavior
you are seeing is controlled by your Windows regional settings. If there
is no input mask involved have you tried entering a four digit year? If
the developer has only allowed a two digit year entry then you have no
choice but to alter your Windows settings.

The setting you are looking for is described (on my Windows XP box) as ...

"When a two-digit year is entered, interpret it as a year between..."

....and then provides a box where you can control this. The default is that
two digit entries are interpreted as falling between 1930 and 2029.
