Access 97 "Unrecognized Database Format"

D

Debbie M

I am having trouble opening some of my Access 97 database
files.

I get an error message saying "Unrecognized Database
Format".

The files in question have an .mdb file extension.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

You're probably trying to open an Access 2000 or 2002 database with 97.
You'll need a newer version of Access to be able to open the file.

After that, i still suggest you use 2000 which i feel much
more stable and i never have any corruption experience

<gasp> <splutter>

May, that's very interesting. I had FAR more corruption problems in my
(brief!) use of 2000 than I had ever had in 97, still the best version
around IMHO. AccessXP seems to be more stable than 2000 but not up to
the level of 97.

Obviously experiences differ in this realm!
