Access 97 to SQL 2000 conversion

I am trying to convert an access 97 database to sql 2000
but I am getting the following error message.

DTS IMPORT/EXPORT WIZARD ERROR
ERROR SOURCE: MICROSOFT JET DATABASE ENGINE
ERROR DESCRIPTION: RECORD(S) CANNOT BE READ; NO READ
PERMISSION ON 'MYDATABASE.'
CONTEXT: ERROR CALLING OPENROWSET ON THE PROVIDER.

I know that this particular database has a password but is
there a way to get around this password issue because I
don't know what the password is - my predecessor didn't
leave any documentation whatsoever so I am left trying to
figure this thing out. At any rate, any help would be
much appreciated.
