access 97 is automatically rounding my subtotals on invoice

the formula for the subtotal is: =Sum(CLng(Quantity)*(UnitPrice))

while the line total is $142.80, the subtotal says $143.00 and the taxes and
total are calculated based on the $143.

what is going on?

The CLng() function converts to a Long Integer. An integer, by definition,
does not have a decimal part.
