Access 2007 running a 2003 db problem

I have a form that has a subform (datasheet). One of the columns in the
subform is the date field from the underlying query.
When I click on the date column, then right-click, Access "encountered a
problem" and crashes. I have tested this on a variety of sample dbs, and it
happens every time. I examined the date field and there is no code
associated with it, just the date field as the control source. This only
happens when the right-click menu is disabled. I would like to keep it
disabled.
Any ideas?

try sourcing the subform on a query, rather than directly on a table.

for some reason this has worked to clear other inexplainable problems with
subforms specifically in 2007 for me....but I don't know why and consider it
really just a guess. but I don't source any forms now directly on tables
in 07.....

I discovered the source of my problem. In the subform's properties, I had
"shortcut menu" set to yes, even though the access options had them turned
off. When I changed the property to No, Access became "un-confused" and no
longer crashes!

I have never changed/played with 'shortcut menu' property.....what compelling
reason is there to alter this? would be interested to know more....
