Access 2007 Form slow almost unusable when form not maximized.

Hi All,
I have a database that has one particular form that has 5 tabs and several
feilds on each tab. textboxes and dropdownboxes. one tab has a subform.
This form loads slowly and when you click on each dropdownbox they take 3-5
seconds to react to the click of the mouse. I've tested this form on 5
different machines and the behavior is consistent. I've tested it on xp and
vista machines.
I attempted to rebuild the form from scratch without copying any objects
from the original form suspecting that something within the form was corrupt.
at some point the newly built form has become slow also.

After spending many hours playing with the new form i found that it WILL
speed up to a normal working speed if I maximize the form. but if i restore
it again the speed issue returns.
This is crazy. Anyone have any suggestions? I have the latest service pack.
Strangely I have another form in the database that has the same number of
objects and more tabs and works completely normally.

I am in desperate needs of any suggestions, I may have to open a case with
microsoft. about this one.

I've reposted your posting in the Access MVP newsgroup. Let's see if
anyone else has any suggestions. Or Microsoft folks might be
interested in this one as well.

MS would very likely want a repro MDB/ACCDB of this situation though.
But we'll talk about that if they do want one.

I did some more research and found that access has other issues regarding
being slow, I found a hotfix that addressed slowness issues and I thought it
couldn't hurt to try it. It turns out this hotfix resolved my issue and
everything is working perfectly fine now.
Here is the HOTFIX...

Ah, that hotfix. I'd forgotten about it. I've added that one to my
performance FAQ page.

Thanks muchly, Tony

Is there any way to apply this hotfix when using Access 2007 Runtime?

I've applied this hotfix to my machine running the full version of Access
2007, and it really helped... Made closing forms take less than 1 second,
when prior they took 25-30 seconds to close.

All users are using Access 2007 Runtime. Some have Access 2003 installed,
but fe is an accdb file, so the Runtime is how they use it.

When I try to install it on those machines, I get the error "Setup has
detected that the service pack version of this system is newer than the
update you are applying" "

Any ideas how I can work around this? Those machines that theoretically have
a more recent update still have the 25-30 seconds form closing times.
