Access 2007 Date Field

When I click in a date field in a table, it takes forever (like a query is
running). Is there a way to turn this off?

I turned of the little calendar, but it still takes forever.

Actually there is. In the table (in design view) go to the specific field and
look at the field properties. The very last option is 'show datepicker' which
you can set for two ways 1. on dates 2. never.
