We have some pc's with office 97 apps. that we want to get rid of so i used
the offcln.exe that comes with office 2003 and used the /a switch for
aggressive and and the /q switch for quiet, needless to say when i did that
it uninstalled some office 2003 files and then access 2003 would not open any
databases and everytime you open it it would want to configure. I was able to
re-register two registry keys and now access 2003 will atleast open databases
again but everytime you open it, it still wants to go thru the
setup/configure process. Anyone know how to get it to configure and then not
again? I believe it has to do with some more registry keys but not for sure.

Thanks,
Jason

Does anyone know how to fix this??????

Hon, I think you're asking in the wrong place. Most people I know who have
Access 2003 on their computers along with an earlier version *keep* that
other version. They'd rather give up coffee than give up their other version
of Access and be forced to use Access 2003's security model all the time.

If you want a better chance of finding someone familiar with using that
uninstall tool with Office 2003 applications, I suggest you post your
question in the Excel or Word newsgroups.

Sorry but i am not trying to be rude but, the problem is with Access 2003 and
this is what these newsgroups are related to right? And everyone has already
given up the older version and everything is converted over to 2003 now so we
are trying to get rid of the old version to clean up the pc's now.

Thank you for the reply.

Yes it is, hon. But questions in these newsgroups are answered by Access
developers and power users, people who aren't likely to be familiar with your
specific problem because it's with Access 2003 and an
installation/configuration job usually done by Windows Administrators.

Upgrades can be a colossal nightmare. What we do to try to limit the pain is
to roll out the upgrades in stages for the first few departments instead of
the entire organization all at once, because no matter how many weeks we
spend thoroughly testing the new disk image, our users will find some
misconfigurations and incompatibilities. Good luck to you.
