Access 2003 Dialogue Box Error

Hi. I have a membership db that pulls in images from a separate file. When
I enter a member name, info about the member appears along with their photo.
While the system is fetching the image, a dialogue box appears saying
"Importing path/file name." After the image appears the dialogue box goes
away. But sometimes this dialogue box stays on the screen and never goes
away. Even exiting Access doesn't help--I have to go to the task manager
and terminate Access from there.

Any idea how to get this error fixed, and is there a way to turn off this
message altogether? This db runs on several PCs (Win XP Pro and some Win98)
and it's a problem on all systems.

Thanks.

I tried both (successful)--I think I'm going to use the subroutine since I
don't want to deal with everyone's registry settings.
