Access 2002 & OfficeXP, Cant Create mde?

D

Dave Elliott

Why cant I create a mde even after converting the db into 2002 format?
I have office xp installed also. Are these not compatible?
Is there anything I can do?
All it gives me is a error message saying it cant create a mde with no other
explanation.
The db compiles fine with no errors.

Dave,

1. Open any code module.
2. From the Debug menu, select Compile.
3. Fix whatever error is reported.
4. Repeat Steps 2 & 3 until no more errors are reported.
5. Make the MDE.

Hi, Dave.
Why cant I create a mde even after converting the db into 2002 format?
The db compiles fine with no errors.

You've already eliminated the two most likely culprits, the inability to
compile and the database not in the format for the current version. There
are a number of other reasons that might prevent the database from being
converted to an MDE file. Check the "Can't make an MDE!" checklist in the
"How to determine why Access is unable to create an MDE database" tip on the
following Web page to help you determine why you can't create the MDE
database:
