Access 2000 Service Packs

I have been having problems recently with database corruption and the error
msg "you may have lost network connection...." I found Allen Brown's article
about this problem very helpful, especially about exporting forms, etc.
without the module attached. Saves a lot of work!

Apparently I need to install the service packs to prevent future problems,
but I am using Vista. I haven't found anything on the MS website that says
SP1 is appropriate for Vista. It only mentions Windows 2000, etc. Please
advise. I don't want to mess up my entire system with an installation that I
don't need or won't work!

David Fenton somewhat disagrees with me. However I've always found
that this is caused by some kind of hardware fault. Generally
intermittent in nature of course otherwise it would've been easy to
find. Such as a loose connection somewhere. This can be really
hard to track down.

David's experience has been that this is frequently caused by older
network card drivers. Which is certainly a possibility.

Hmm, when I reread your posting I'm wondering why you have to recreate
the forms without modules attached? Are you working on a local copy
of your FE which resides on your hard drive? Have you split the MDB
into a FE/BE system?
