Access 2000 Forms Filtering

I am trying to Filter data to a Master Form based on criteria contained in a
Sub Form. At present, there is an unbound Combo Box on the Master that Lists
the values found in the Field on the Sub Form. I want to make a selection
using the Combo Box, and filter the Master Records that are related to that
selection. I am using Access 2000.
 
That sounds upside down. How would there be many Masters to one Sub and many
Subs to one Master?
