access 2000 convert to 2002

Hi. I have a database in access 2000. But my program that
is installed on my computor is from office xp.(I think
this is the same as 2002). How do I go about to convert my
access 2000 database to 2002?

If I can do this will 2002 be a noticable difference.

I see there is access 2003 will there be even more of a
difference with this one?

Also if a database is in 2002 or 2003 can someone using
2000 on there computor convert this 2002 database back to
a 2000 database?
Just new to access.
Thanks Bryan

The default database format for both Access 2002 and Access 2003 is actually
Access 2000. You have to explicitly tell Access to use a different format.

Simply converting from one format to another shouldn't make a difference.
It's just that you can't use the new features of Access unless you're in the
appropriate format.

If the database has been converted, someone with Access 2000 will be unable
to open it at all. However, someone with the newer version of Access will be
able to convert it back to Access 2000 format (Tools | Database Utilities |
Convert..., or something like that) Of course, if you've used any of the new
features, the converted database may not function properly.
