Acces is denied renewing IP Address

Hi all

I have WinXp pro sp2 that is constantly trying to aquire a netwrok address.
When trying to renew through ipconfig I get the error message " error
renewing interface local area connection : Access is denied"

4 other XP machines work fine. This has been working for a long time and
started suddenly yesterday.
Any help would be grealty appreciated.

The problem could be that the local area network connection has become
corrupted. Go to Device Manager and un-install the network adapter
that the connection uses, which will delete the connection. Then,
click Action | "Scan for hardware changes" to re-install the adapter,
which will create a new connection.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I'm wondering if re-installing the network adapter worked for you. If it did how do you get to Device Manager
