accents in spanish not recognized

When typing the following text in Spanish in a new message in Outlook 2003,
the accents were not correctly recognized

¿Cómo esta? ¿Recibio Ud. Mi carta ayer? Le hablare mas tarde.

There should have been an accent on the following: está, recibió, Hablaré,más.
 
What keyboard language are you using and what IME do you have enabled?
