Acc2K3 - Compact on Close?

Anyone using compact on close in Access 2003? Got a FE/BE split db I'm
going to roll out to some users to test before it goes into production and
I'm wondering if I should turn this on or not. Only data from the current
session is stored in the FE but I'm still a little concerned doing this.
Any tips are appreciated. Thanks.

Better not to al lot of troubles can happen when you choose compact on close.
I'd advice to do this manually from time to time (with first making a copy of
the db before actually compacting it)

Thanks for the reply, Maurice.

That's what I usually do. However, the FE is going out to about 10 users
and I don't what to compact their individual copies or replace them on a
regular basis. I've done a lot of manual compact/repair over the years and,
knock on wood, have only corrupted one db in the process. And, as an
automatic compact/repair would be run on the FE copies, I can live with a
little risk that their dbs will be corrupted, just not if it's something
that's going to occur every month.

If you have any other comments or advice, I'd be glad to hear it. Thanks.
