ACC2000: calculations in reports

Need some assistance with basic calculations in reports (+ - * / ).

I'm not having much luck with calculating numeric data and putting the
results in report form.

I have tables of data that I'm trying to manipulate with calculations and
put into reports. For example, I have machines (by make & model#) and I'm
keeping track of the # of part defects, by the make & model, that each
machine has. The defects are not broken down any further...just the number
of defects per make/model. This data is tallied on a weekly basis.

The data will be calculated in various ways using the 4 basic math
functions. How do I proceed? Do I need to use a query? If so, which type.
Can I just do the calculations directly in the report? Any good online info
regarding calculations in Access (2000 or newer versions)?

Thanks in advance for your assistance !!

If you only want aggregated values, you should generally perform these in the
report's record source query. You can perform aggregations (sum, avg,
count,...) in report Group Header and Footer sections.

If you want more specific information, you should come back with some table
structures, data, and desired display in the report.
