possible with cells but for workbook I would like to learn

TIA

Alain

A referenced workbook is absolute, it won't change when you copy the
formula.

What exactly is the problem?

My problem is about linked workbooks, I develop some worksheets that was
linked to another Excel file on my desktop,
the problem is when I open the develop worksheets, it look for the likned
file on my desktop even when the workbook has been transfered to the network
and all the links refreshed with the new location ( worksheets to the
workbook)

The options are set correctly so I do not know why it ask for the workbook
on my desktop

Excel does not keep track of events that happen outside of itself, so if a
file was moved to the network, how would it know?
