Absolute Path to BE

If you're going to use the Linked Table Manager to change
the paths to something that everyone can see, regardless
of drive letter mapping, try this:

- Run the Linked Table Manager
- Check the tables to be relinked (or Select All)
- Check the box that says "Always prompt for new location"
- Click OK

Now here's the key point:

- When you browse to the new location, go through "My
Network Places" or "Network Neighborhood" (depending on
your version of Windows)

- Locate the server, then directory, the find your backend
file
- You'll end up with your tables linked via UNC pathing,
and as long as your users have access to that
server/directory, they'll be able to connect to the back
no matter how their drive letters are mapped.

Hope that helps!

It's mis-labeled in my opinion. It would make more sense if it just said
"Prompt for new location"

What it does is allow you to refresh the links while specifying a different
file location than before. If you don't check that box then the links are
refreshed using the same location as they currently point at.

It only affects refreshing the links *this time* so the word "always" is
misleading.

Agreed. It's never made sense to me.
