I have a AMD 64 CPU.
If I was to get Vista 64 bit version.
Can 32 bit programs run? or would I need Vista 32 bit version (is Vista in
32 bit?)?

In general, 32bit apps will run on a 64bit cpu just as they do on a 32bit
cpu. The AMD 64 cpu's are backwards compatible with 32bit cpu's. You will
find some software that will not run (programs with 16bit installers won't
install, programs requiring a driver but only have 32bit drivers, etc).
Productivity apps like Office are no problem and most entertainment software
runs as well. Programs that use low-level routines like antivirus and cd
burners need to be 64bit versions. And so on.

If you have to ask this question, get the 32-bit version.

The 64-bit version is bascially for high-end workstations, specialist
scientific applications, etc.
Driver support for consumer hardware is basically non-existant
(although, for some reason, that statement always seems to get responses
of 'What are you taking about? It works on my quad processor xeon.')

The reason you get responses like "what are you talking about?" is that your
response is extreme and generally untrue.

i have vista 65 on AMD dual core,

32 bits a running, 90% of my XP game and application are running with
compatibility mode,
but you are nore sure get running 100%, sometime in case you can get
trouble with
graphic, sound, function or installation, my word 97 is running under vista.
