George

Hi,
1. I use the minlogon+task manager shell, and I want use the shutdown button
on the task manager, which components should I add?
I make the task manager shell before, that it include the shutdown button on
the task manager, I forget I use the minlogon or the winlogon. But now the
shutdown button disappears, I don't know why?
2. I want use the task bar with minlogon+task manager shell. But I type the
explorer.exe in the task manager shell OS, it's not included. If i want use
it which component should i add?

George,

1) shutdown button on the task manager? Where did you see one? (I failed to find it on XP Pro Task Manager).

Also, you don't need any shutdown button there. You can just include Power Management application and launch "xpepm -shutdown" from
the Task Manager to do the job.

2) Task bar is a part of Explorer Application. You will need to switch to "Explorer Shell" then.

1. I indeed find the shutdown button on the task manger on my task manager
shell XPE before. I know we can use "xpepm -shutdown" or "shutdown -t 0" to
shutdown the computer. :<
2. Thanks. :)

KM,
We can change the logon method by
nusrmgr.cpl(c:\windows\system32\nusrmgr.cpl) to enable the shutdown/restart
button on task manger on normal XP pro.
So if we use the minlogon, it seems that we can enable the shutdown/restart
button on task manager, because the msgina.dll can't be included into the
minlogon. :(

George,

I don't know why you referred to User Manager with regards to the shutdown button on Task Manager.
But I think I understand what you meant now - the Ctrl-Alt-Del window.
Yes, you are correct - MS Gina is not part of Minlogon.

I don't know how to enable the shutdown option with Minlogon. Sorry.
I can only suggest you to use other shutdown methods.

Yup.. As I mentioned Task Bar is a part of Explorer App.
You can just launch explorer.exe. Although I don't know why would you need
that.

KM,

It seems use minlogon also can enanble the task bar. I use the
minlogon+command shell before, and find the task bar. I will check the SLX
file, and I will give you the check result later.

I mean use minlogon+command shell, and type explorer.exe. Then the explorer
and task bar appears.

I just some puzzled about it. :)

KM,
There are also some puzzles to me.
If I use the minlogon+task manager shell, I type explorer.exe, there is no
task bar.
If I use the minlogon+Command shell, I type explorer.exe, there is a task
bar.

What's the difference on explorer components or settings between the task
manager shell and command shell?
I mean why the task bar don't appear on the task manger shell? Can I add any
components or change any setting to add the task bar?

George,

I see the same behavior. With Task Manager shell (Minlogon) the explorer app does not create Shell Tray window.
Without deep debugging into I cannot tell what the exact reason is. This might be a bug or behavior by design in explorer.
Currently I believe it is the taskman.exe that causing the problem.

Thanks all the same.
