? about slipstreaming XP/SP2

My current installation is from a slipstreamed CD I made using the original
XP/SP1 and the downloaded SP2 from MS web site.
Did I see somewhere that it's not a good idea to use an XP/SP1 CD for this
purpose (vs. XP Gold)? If so why not?
 
For starters you don't want to be installing SP1 and then SP2
SP2has all that SP1 had and more.
What's the point in installing SP1 if SP2 install tries to uninstall it?
