I just got this about:blank couple of hours ago and has
now made my life miserable. Any way to get rid of it? I am
afraid to download beta version of MS Anti Spyware because
I am not sure if it will cause any other major problems.
Please advise.

I would recommend using the Microsoft Antispyware beta.

If you are worried about it, after the scan, don't allow it to remove
anything except items you are certain about--see if it identifies
about:blank.

Best to update the apps definitions via File, check for updates, then
restart in safe mode and do a full, deep scan.

I realize there are lots of scary posts here, and some genuinely bad
experiences, but they are not the norm for most users of the software--who
never even think of posting here.
