hi all,i have the above mb for a sempron build,
im confused as this board has 3 power inputs,
1 24 pin 1 square block 12v input near the cpu and 1
4 pin input.
im confused as what the 12 volt input near the cpu is for,
the 4 pin input the manual says needs to be installed for
pci express stabilty,as for the 4 pin near the cpu i dont have
a clue and its not a cpu fan header.
i have not built a system for over 5 years, and thought
it would still be the 1 power input.
3 power inputs is this the norm now?

hope that made sense.i dont want to blow the thing.

thanks for your time.

You should have a lead from the PSU that fits the 4 pin connector near
the CPU. It is needed along with the 24 pin connector to power the
motherboard. Failing to connect that 4 pin socket is the most common
reason for a failure to boot.

RTFM! Page 2-5 seems clear. 20/24 pin goesto ATXPWR1, and the square 4
pin goes to ATX12V1. ATX4P1 is to provide extra juice for high performance
graphics cards. PSU should be at least 350W (don't buy a cheap no-name that
weighs very little). If your PSU doesn't have the 12V square connector, it
is too old and low power.

i did read the manual,it did`nt seem clear to me if to connect both or
just the 24 pin or the atx12v.
also my graphics card has a power connector, does the atx4p take care
of that or do i still connect power to the card aswell??

thanks for your help.

sorry for being so green on this.

regards
