A7V8X-MX mb no display in DOS

Trying to load PQmagic from dos on my friends PC and as soon as the splash
screen appears the monitor looses signal. Display works ok in windows. Can
anyone help? it is rather urgent.

it turned out to be a problem with the boot cd I had made on a different pc.
Not had a problem with it before.
